As I’m getting The Day The World Burns ready to publish, I realize that one of my good friends might be upset for the lives characters are forced to live. It’s the end of the world in an alien invasion; you can’t expect them to have to greatest time in the world! Plus, that’s how books–in my opinion–stay interesting.
I’ve been working on getting my science fiction novel, The Day The World Burns, ready for publication this year. My goal is to release it by the end of the year. I think I need to give myself a deadline so this will get done instead of me just saying it’ll get done. I have the cover art done and ready to use. The little blurb to go on the back of the book is also complete. I just need to finish the final draft and get it out to the world.
Procrastination is a problem. Distractions are a common occurrence. I feel like a deadline is the best option. I’ll shoot for mid-July to have this thing polished and have my proof ordered. Maybe by the end of August I’ll have my fifth book out for the world to enjoy!
It’s been a few weeks since I’ve made progress on any of my projects. I’m not sure why, but I was in a kind of slump for a while. I didn’t have the motivation to sit at my desk and write. I wouldn’t call it writer’s block, but more along the lines of not being in the mood.
Those things tend to happen.
As of late, I find myself getting to work on a new project. I’m four chapters and 6,000 words in. I don’t want to speak too soon, but it’s going good. I’m slowly coming out of my slump and getting my motivation back. Also, I’ve been getting work done on my science fiction novel, The Day The World Burns, in hopes to publish it later this year. Hopefully, soon, I’ll be able to order the proof for that one. I just need to find or create the perfect cover.
But, that’s my update for today. I need to do this more often!
It’s Tuesday night. My husband is working and I’m at home getting some editing done on The Day The World Burns. In a few weeks to a couple months, I’ll release my baby to the world for all to enjoy.
Inspiration just hit my brain so hard, I had to hurry to finish the paperwork for my day job so I could write down my brain’s new baby before I forgot everything. I just spent the last half hour, typing on my phone, the notes for a new story. I can’t wait to get this one started!
A great day for writing!
It’s Monday again. Time for a new week in the bitter cold of almost winter. I’m ready for spring and warm weather already. Who isn’t?
I think I’ve turned into one of those writers who is working on more than one project at a time. I don’t know why, but I keep switching back and forth between three stories. I have three different note books by my keyboard on my desk for each project’s outline and special character traits.
I wish I could focus on just one, but there’s no fun in that!
It’s been four years since I released my first book and I still have to pinch myself on occasion just so I know it’s real. I love knowing my work is out there for the world to enjoy and I’ll continue to send my babies out there.
You can download your very own copy of The Human Race for Kindle today for .99 cents. And don’t forget to check out the other two books in this YA apocalyptic trilogy.
Every night as I sit at my desk and get to work on my stories and books, I plug my phone into the speakers and let the music take me to a place that sets my fingers in motion and the words flow onto the page. I’m not the only one out there that has to listen to music while they work–no matter what that work might entail. I can’t listen to classical hits or tunes from the 70s and 80s eras. Although, I do have a few Queen and Journey songs on my playlist.
What gets me motivated the most? The songs that have a good beat. Rock music, mostly, but I do have a few hipper songs on the list. However, if you go through my phone you’ll notice that the majority of songs come from my all time favorite band on the planet, Fall Out Boy. They have been my favorite since high school, so about 15 years. (Man, that makes me feel old and I’m only 29.)
But, it’s with these select songs that I’m able to get over any writing slumps that stand in my way. They help me see the story happening as I punch the keys with delicate and, sometimes, angry care. Without music, I believe the world would be a very dull and boring place. What would we have to sing badly to? What would we have to fight off the dreadful silence of the night while we sleep? How on earth would we get to work without pumping our favorite tunes as loudly as the speakers will go?
I don’t think humanity would survive without music or books or any of the creativity that drives this planet forward. It’s in the arts of all generations that makes this planet spin smoothly.
And thus ends my rant for the evening!
I thought it was time again to do a special promotion for one of my books, Crazy For Love. It will be free starting today and going through this weekend, ending on Sunday. Go ahead and download your copy for Kindle today and leave a review with what you thought of it.
This makes a great read for anyone who enjoys a good suspenseful page turner. You’ll follow a young man on his short journey of slipping out of the clutches of a female stalker. She fell in love with him so easily, she just had to make him hers. Nothing will stand in her way of making that happen.
I feel like it’s time to do a little book promoting tonight. This was the very first series I published and I still can’t believe I took that leap and put this one out there. It’s a surreal feeling knowing that more than just my family can read something I’ve poured my heart and soul into. It’s an awesome feeling!
So, if you’re into zombies, vampires, and an apocalyptic adventure trilogy, then snag this series and get lost in the story. You’ll follow Bridget on her journey to survival and madness. She faces death on so many occasions, yet walks away with a brave face and the determination to keep on going. Is there love? Yes. Is there sadness? Of course. Is there a happy ending? I’ll let you be the judge of that.
Download or buy a print copy of the series by clicking the links below and don’t forget to leave a review.
