Publishing Eternity

Well, the time has come to set out with publishing Eternity. I began the arduous task of formatting this evening. I’m not sure exactly when the release date will be, but I’m hoping for later this year.

This is the first of two books, set in the future during not-so-great times. It has a hint of science fiction and time travel, but it’s mostly a thrill-ride that will keep you hooked until the very end.

More details will come a little later. I just wanted to give the world an update.

Stay classy out there!!

Done with Edits on Eternity!

Well, I think I finally finished the final draft of Eternity. I don’t know what it is, but every time I read it, it sucks me in and it’s hard to focus on editing rather than enjoying my work. But, I cracked down on myself and went line by line in vigorous editing until I feel that it is perfect. I’ve been sending out query letters the past few weeks (that explains why I haven’t been on for a while) plus I’ve started the untitled sequel.

I’m looking forward to my science fiction, suspenseful thriller to be out to the public one day.

Editing Eternity

While working on my other projects, I have been polishing one of my favorites by far, Eternity. This may sound conceded since I’m the author of this, but I swear I could read it one a thousand times over and never get tired of it. It’s my own work of art and I’m so enthralled with how it’s turned out. It’s got action, adventure, romance, murder, a hint of time travel, as well as some science fiction thrown in the mix. My main character, Calvin, is my favorite, of course. She really shouldn’t be since she’s not exactly a nice person throughout most of it. But, she means well and is only following her lifelong dream of getting the world to remember her name and adore her. What twenty-something year old girl doesn’t want that?

I’ve even taken the time to revamp my query letter on this one in order to start over fresh when sending to agents and publishers. Then will come the gut-wrenching time period of reading through rejection letters until I finally get the one that tells me what I want to hear. Of course, I never get my hopes up and I’ll never stop trying.

Anyway, that’s my rant for today. Time to get back to editing!

Back again!

I woke up this morning and realized that it’s been a long time since I’ve ranted about anything on my blog. I guess I’m struggling with things to say, not that there’s nothing on my mind, because there’s an insane amount of craziness going on up there. I just kept putting it off and putting it off until this very moment right now.

So, this year, I’m going to get back in the groove of things and write more. I’m going to take time each week and update the world on whatever the hell I’m working on. As of right now, I have a number of projects I’ve begun and a few that are finished. One of which is a young adult, dystopian thriller set in the future where the population dwindles above extinction. Just to give you all a taste of what that entails, let’s just say that repopulating the human race is of dire importance so the government goes to great lengths to make sure it survives. That means plucking healthy people of proper breeding age and thrusting them into a life where that is not only necessary but demanded upon by the founders of the facility.

I can’t give away too much, but I will tell you all that I have been sending out queries for this one I’ve titled The Facility. It’s part of a trilogy that I will soon be working on the sequels to.

So, that’s it for the night. My heartfelt rant in a nutshell. See you next time!

Wayward Pines

I recently began watching this series on TV. I had no idea it was based off of a book until after the first episode. This show has me hooked and confused and I LOVE IT! After the second episode, I got on Amazon and ordered the trilogy to get ahead of the game. Of course, I am a slow reader, but I intend on posting reviews of these books just like I do with every other book I read.

Book Review: The Plantation

Written by Stella Samiotou Fitzsimons

This is the first book in The Plantation series and it was a good one. I was hooked right off the bat and found it hard to put my kindle down at times. It starts out a bit slow, but once it picks up the pace it’s great. This was a quick read and I’d recommend it to anyone into the young adult, action/adventure, dystopian types of books.

It takes place in the future after an alien race takes over the planet. They enslave the human race (naturally) and put the teenagers in these prison camps called the Plantations. A few of the kids escape and join together in hopes of rising up against the aliens and win back the planet. They call themselves the Saviors.

Freya is the main character in this book and she believes that she has no special abilities to add to the Saviors. She isn’t as strong as the others but she isn’t one to stand down when there’s a fight coming along. She narrarates this story, telling all about the plantations and the family she was forced to leave behind. Her best friend, Finn, sticks by her side, telling her that one day they’ll be able to show their worth and fight against the aliens, hoping to make a difference. All fo the Saviors want more to join them and start a revolution to send the aliens back to the hell they came from.

Of course this book wouldn’t be as interesting if something bad didn’t happen to the heroes. They get forced from their camp and cornered down by the aliens. And this is where I must stop or else I will spoil the entire thing. I am most definitely not one to ruin a book by doing that.

So, I’ll leave you with a link to download your very own copy of The Plantation and enjoy it just as much as I have.

Depression is looming inside of her, taking over the very part of her that wants to survive. She finds herself wanting death as her mind goes over every painful memory of the great life she once had. The pain from those memories becomes too much and she wills herself to forget it all.

By forgetting her life, she lets loose the monster that dwells in her unbeating heart. It knows nothing of her past and only plans for the future it needs to survive through.
